Banje beach (pebbly beach near Old Town)

A lovely pebble beach a short walk from Old Town

You'll find the Banje beach, one of the most attractive beaches of Dubrovnik, a short walk from Old Town (to the east). The sea is here crystal clear and the beach is made of small pebbles and sand. It offers amazing views of the City walls and Lokrum island.

Visitors can rent sun loungers and parasol but it's fairly expensive (€60 for two sun loungers and umbrella a day). The alternative is to use the section of the beach where you can lay your towel freely (south side of the beach).

There is a beach bar/restaurant where you can have a cocktail or some other drink while enjoying on the beach (or even lunch).

The Banje beach can get very crowded during the day in the summer so to get away we recommend taking a kayaking tour (that departs from here), which will take you beneath the City walls, then around Lokrum island to the Betina Cave.

A lot of apartments and hotels are within walking distance to Banje beach.

Saint Jacob (Sveti Jakov) beach (the beach with amazing view)

St Jacob Beach

This amazing beach (rated as one of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia) is an absolute dream beach, surrounded by spectacular rocks and with a stunning view of the Old Town of Dubrovnik.

Offering a crystal clear sea water and sun loungers and umbrellas (can be rented), this is a great spot for enjoying during hot summer days. The beach bar and restaurant provide refreshment if needed.

Saint Jacob beach can be reached  on foot from Old Town (in 20-25 minutes) or you can drive to get there. To get down to the beach, there are numerous steps.

Lokrum Island (across Old Town)

Rocky spots on Lokrum island

You'll see this green island, just offshore when sightseeing around Old Town. It makes a perfect escape from crowded city during hot summer days. Hop onto a small boat that runs from Old harbour and get on the island in only 15 minutes.

You'll find many rocky spots on both sides of Lokrum, where you can lay your towel and then jump into the crystal clear sea. There are also ladders that will help you to get easily out of the wonderful refreshing sea.

In the middle of the islands, there is “Dead Sea”, an emerald salt lake, where you can swim (ideal for children). The dramatic coastline of Lokrum is best explored by kayak so consider taking one of many kayaking tours that departs from the coast.

Copacabana beach - ideal for families with children

Babin Kuk has also great choice of beaches. Copacabana beach is located beneath Valamar Hotels and it is ideal for families with small children (Aqua park is located there), young people and elders. On this beach you can find beach bar.

Cava beach - ideal for relaxing

Not far away from Copacabana beach there is Cava beach. On this beach you will find Coral Beach Club with a range of services such as restaurant, bar, massage etc. Beach is equipped with comfortable sunbeds and parasols.
